Public Works Department

The City of Blackduck Public Works Department is responsible for the administration and implementation of several services within the City of Blackduck.  These include street maintenance, water and waste-water services, storm water management, sign maintenance, street lighting, cemetery and parks.  In addition, with the help of the city engineer the department is responsible for implementation of capital improvement projects and management of the equipment replacement program.
The areas of responsibility above require the department to respond to requests for services to the community, coordinate our efforts with County, State and Federal agencies, and above all other things, work with the community in an effort to provide the best possible service available.  Please feel free to contact our department to address any of your questions or concerns.

2018 Drinking Water Report

The City of Blackduck is issuing the results of monitoring done on its drinking water for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2018. The purpose of this report is to advance consumers’ understanding of drinking water and heighten awareness of the need to protect precious water resources.

ORDINANCE #2015-01 AMENDED

Ordinance #215 of the Blackduck City Code, entitled “ESTABLISHING UTILITY RATES AND COLLECTION PROCEDURES” has been amended to codify utility rates and collection procedures by adopting Section 9 "ADJUSTMENTS TO UTILITY BILLS”

Frozen Water Lines Policy and Prevention

State Water User Fee

A drinking water service connection fee is passed through to the Minnesota Department of Health's Drinking Water Protection Program. City Residents are charged this annual water user fee on their utility bill to pay for the last two quarters of the current year and the first two quarters of the next year. All charges passed on to water customers are used to pay for Minnesota Department of Health's Drinking Water Protection Program. This fee is charged in August of each year on your utility bill.
